How To Use
【Surface Preparation Before Application】
1. For new and cured concrete: Ensure the surface is completely dry and clean before proceeding with grinding, densifying, and polishing.
2. For old concrete: Remove any residual adhesives, epoxy, paint, and other coatings from the surface. Ensure the surface is completely dry and clean before proceeding with grinding, densifying, and polishing.
*Surfaces that are already weathered, dusty, or too soft cannot be densified effectively using Concrete Densifier.
【Work Flow】
1. Coarse Grinding - Using Concrete Diamond Pads #1, #2, #3
(1) Set the machine speed to the lowest speed setting “1”. All grinding with the concrete diamond pads should be done at speed setting "1".
(2) Attach concrete diamond pad #1 to the Velcro disc of the machine and start grinding. Perform dry grinding without adding water. Remove surface laitance and level any height differences. After grinding, clean the surface dust with a broom or vacuum cleaner and inspect the surface. If there is still laitance or uneven areas, grind again.
(3) Perform dry grinding with concrete diamond pad #2 in the same manner. Pad #2 should completely remove the grinding marks left by pad #1. After grinding, clean the surface dust with a broom or vacuum cleaner and inspect the surface. The surface should be finer after using pad #2. If any grinding marks from pad #1 remain, grind again until they are removed.
(4) Perform dry grinding with concrete dry polishing pad #3 in the same manner, ensuring that the grinding marks from pad #2 are completely removed. After grinding, clean the surface dust with a broom or vacuum cleaner and inspect the surface. The surface should be finer after using pad #3. If any grinding marks from pad #2 remain, grind again until they are removed.
2. Concrete Surface Densifying - Using Lythic Concrete Densifier
(1) Before application, ensure the concrete surface is free of any contaminants and dust.
(2) Shake the densifier thoroughly and pour it into a spray bottle.
(3) Evenly spray the densifier onto the surface, keeping it moist for about 15 minutes. Avoid pooling; if any areas dry out during this time, reapply the densifier to keep it moist. If pooling occurs, use the provided synthetic fiber brush to spread it evenly.
(4) After about 15 minutes of soaking, let the densifier dry naturally (depending on the environmental condition, this will take about 1-2 hours). Once the densifier completely dry, proceed with subsequent operations.
*Lythic Concrete Densifier is a reactive type. After application, the color and texture of the concrete surface remain the same as before, with no added gloss.
3. Fine Grinding - Using Concrete Diamond Pads #4, #5, #Buff
(1) Use concrete diamond pads #4, #5, and #Buff sequentially for dry polishing. Each grit pad must completely remove the grinding marks left by the previous pad (please clean the surface dust with a broom or vacuum cleaner and inspect the surface again). If there are still grinding marks from the previous grit, grind again until they are eliminated.
(2) After grinding with #4 to #Buff pads, the surface will begin to exhibit a slight gloss. The level of gloss will vary depending on the density of the concrete.
4. Deep Cleaning and Fine Grinding - Using Blue Diamond Impregnated Cleaning and Polishing Pad
(1) Increase the machine speed to 3~4.
(2) Attach the blue diamond impregnated cleaning and polishing pad onto the Velcro disc of the machine. Clean the surface by removing dust and refining the polish.
(3) After completing this step, the surface will be smoother and able to remove dust from within the pores.
5. Surface Polishing: Using Lythic Concrete Protector and Green Diamond Impregnated Cleaning and Polishing Pad
(1) Before application, ensure the surface is clean and completely dry.
(2) Shake the Protector well and pour it into the spray bottle.
(3) Evenly spray the Protector onto the concrete surface, then use the specialized sponge to spread a thin and even layer.
(4) Apply Protector in two coats: wait until the first coat is dry to the touch (no tackiness when touched), then apply the second coat.
(5) After applying the second coat and allowing it to dry completely, proceed to the next step.
(6) Attach the Green Diamond Impregnated Cleaning and Polishing Pad onto the Velcro disc of the machine. Operate the machine at speeds of "3~4" for high gloss polishing of the surface. Apply slight pressure during high polishing. Once high polishing is completed, the operation is finished.
*The achieved gloss and smoothness of the surface will vary depending on the concrete strength and the condition of the surface grinding and polishing.
*If surface anti-stain treatment is required, please use the "XShine Concrete Sealer” after the final grinding and polishing step.
Cautions
1. Before using the polisher, please read the attached safety manual carefully.
2. This machine set is suitable for small area floors, counter-tops, facades, and components.
3. Before application, ensure the concrete has been troweled and cured for approximately 4 weeks.
4. Before proceeding with the full application, conduct a test in a small, inconspicuous area. If you have any questions during testing, please contact us for discussion.
5. The concrete diamond pads use a dry grinding method, which generates dust during operation. Wear a mask during application and use pre-taped masking film to shield surrounding furniture and materials. Consider using a grinding dust shroud and a vacuum to significantly reduce airborne dust.
